Parliament Street
Dear Gossip Tory readers,
My name is Matthew Gass and I am writing today to invite you to the launch of Parliament Street, a new membership based right-of-center think tank at the St Stephen’s Club on Thursday May 31st. We are aimed at providing a platform for ideas from young members of the Conservative grassroots.
Throughout the recent history of politics think tanks have had a unique role in allowing fresh and original ideas to receive the attention they might not otherwise receive. Two years into a Coalition Government focused on reducing a crippling deficit left by Labour we have still seen revolutionary reforms in education, healthcare and welfare. That said, bright new ideas are still needed if we are to show the vision to win an overall majority in 2015. The grassroots conservative movement today is a hotbed of such ideas
Parliament Street looks to provide a range of platforms for members to develop and broadcast their ideas. We are proud to have no corporate view beyond the broad values of the Conservative Party, meaning that if you have an important idea that deserves to be presented we want to help you get it heard. We have an experienced team covering all policy areas who are committed to being open and accessible to ensure that active and involved members get the support they need.
These are exciting times to be a Conservative. The past few months have laid bare the challenges we have to face along with the triumphs we can achieve if we work together. So whether you are a long-standing member hoping to help build a new generation or a young activist with bright ideas to share, we hope you will join us on Thursday the 31st of May at the St Stephen’s Club to learn more about what being a member of Parliament Street can offer.
