Conservative Future Meet The Danish Young Conservatives In London
On Friday 2nd March, Conservative Future hosted a drink reception with the Danish Young Conservatives (KU) at CCHQ. Over 50 Danish activists came to London to experience British Conservatism, with a weekend packed full of great events with the Conservative Party. In the morning, KU enjoyed a guided tour of Parliament, experiencing centuries of British political history. They particularly appreciated our House of Lords grandeur. The evening saw the CF and KU members socialising at a drink reception in CCHQ, exchanging ideas and experiences. Guest speaker was Emma
Pidding, the newly elected chairman of the national convention. She talked about the structure of the Conservative voluntary party and how it is essential for Conservatives across the world to strengthen ideological relationships. I personally enjoyed talking to Jens Salling, the National President of KU. We discussed the challenges ahead of the Danish Conservative Party in the future and how possible reforms in their party could help to build upon their success. This was followed by them attending the voluntary party Spring Forum on Sunday with speeches from the Prime Minister, William Hague and the one and only BORIS. This gave them an insight into how our party works, and how they may utilise our succeses in order to help improve their party.
Last year we formed a strong relationship with the Young Swedish Conservatives after hosting a joint event in London. I can only hope that we can also continue this special friendship with our new Danish friends.
