Conservative Future: Playground or Platform?

A guest post by Political Cheese:

As a CF Branch Chairman sometimes I ask myself this question and I always end up thinking about the main reason behind the creation of Conservative Future (Youth wing of the Conservative party). Is it a playground for certain young people who prefer to just ‘play politics’, or is it a platform for young aspiring politicians?

Of course we all know that the primary objectives to set up a youth wing were to encourage more young people to get involved in politics and to create an extra army of volunteer activists to help out in election campaigns. On the positive side, we have already achieved that – and thanks to technology and social media, which have made communication much easier, we can now take CF to the next level.

Conservative Future, just like any other non-profit organisation can be provided with opportunities to grow and gain credit. It can become a very dominant and respected organisation which could only benefit the Party. In order to make that happen, it is important for us to make sure that we will keep certain useless people away from executive positions; those who are damaging the Party, by ‘playing politics’ instead of contributing. “The Tory party is a party with the right people in control” The Times – This is what we need in CF. However, I am very optimistic about the future of CF; I am sure we will keep the insane from getting into power and I think there are great days ahead of all of us.
